textiles for living
PLUM meets beauty and utility in daily living with woven linen textiles grounded in material purity, design restraint, and thoughtful color. Each fabric or sewn good is a standard, not just a season, for living with intention rather than trend.
A Study in Lines
We recently completed a bedding project that is a study in lines. Our client wanted a custom design that gave interest to a simple midcentury modern interior. Like the architecture, the bedding design is a careful construction – contrast piping sewn into every seam on the duvet cover, pillowcases and lumbar pillow.
In home textiles, we frequently see lines in woven and printed patterns, but more rarely within the sewing process itself. This project was also a story of time and sewing as much as design. Custom construction details like this make a functional object worthy of time spent in making it. They also enhance the enjoyment of using it. The bedding becomes part of a larger approach toward daily life: the quiet luxury of living with intention.
The Composed Stripe
Stripes are familiar. In their repetition, they hold a quiet power few patterns achieve. At PLUM, the stripe is never merely decorative. It is structure, memory, and movement—all at once.
This is where composure begins. Not as an absence of expression, but as control—an understanding of when to hold, when to repeat, and when to allow space to speak.
ON utility
Hardworking durable thicker weight linen is the backbone of daily life.
